We’re not sure if you’re in the same boat as we are, but allergies have started attacking a little early over here! We thought it might be a good idea to provide a few all-natural remedies for allergy relief, just in case your eyes are as itchy as ours.
1. Honey – Now this one doesn’t have a whole lot of science behind it, but our moms always told us that the local honey contains pollen from around the area, basically giving you an all-natural mini allergy shot. But hey, there are no side effects so worst-case scenario, you have an excuse to put a little bit of extra honey on your morning toast.
2. Neti Pots – Yes, they look funny and the thought of running saline through your nostrils isn’t the most appealing, but they sure do work! Unlike the honey tip, this one is more of a method for immediate relief than a preventative measure.
3. Fluids – Make sure to drink plenty of fluids, especially water! While it may not provide a whole lot of actual relief, it’ll thin out any mucus that may be building up and hopefully make things feel a little better for you.
4. A Clean Home – Maybe we’re a little biased, but we’ve found that a clean home can be one of the biggest contributors to a healthy body. All of the dust and pollen from outside latches onto clothing and shoes and gets dragged into the house, making your home a miniature haven for allergens. Regular dusting and vacuuming should help tremendously.
We know it wasn’t much, but hopefully it’s enough to provide you with a small bit of relief until we put out our more comprehensive Spring allergy relief guide. Stay clean, Palm Springs!
